You can build a page that looks good. Now make it do things: your first programming language, from zero to a real interactive web app.

JavaScript is the only language that runs everywhere: in every web browser on Earth (on about 98% of all websites), on servers with Node.js, in mobile apps with React Native and in desktop apps like VS Code, Slack and Discord. It has been the most used programming language in the world for more than a decade, and every modern framework (React, Angular, Vue, Next.js) is built on it. This beginner course picks up exactly where HTML and CSS stop: you already know how to make a page look good, now you'll make it think, react and remember. No programming experience needed. You start in the browser console and with Node.js, learn values, variables, operators, strings and template literals, decisions, loops and functions (including arrow functions and scope), then organise data with arrays, objects and JSON. You learn to hunt bugs like a detective with the Chrome DevTools debugger instead of guessing. Then you take control of the page: select, change and create elements (the DOM), react to clicks and typing with events, validate forms properly and save data with localStorage. All along, you build MeepleBoard for Dice Dice Baby, a board-game café: a game catalogue with live search and filters, favourites, a score keeper and a table-booking form, and you publish it online. Every lesson has a main video, a "more examples & common pitfalls" video, a quiz after each video and a hands-on lab that runs right in your browser, with full solutions to compare. Light humour included: JavaScript was written in 10 days, and we have been debugging it ever since.
